Srushti began to prepare herself for her UPSC examination during her 3rd year as an engineering student. During her graduation she was unsure if she could be happy working in an engineering position. Later, she realized her dream was civil services and began to concentrate on the field. Her parents urged her to concentrate on civil work and to find a job serving the people. Her motivation was to be an IAS officer and was focused on that goal. Achieving UPSC is a lot of work. She would prepare for UPSC subjects while she studied her engineering. The exam preparation took up the entire day. In only one and a half months, she passed her engineering examinations, and stayed away from all social interactions. Her belief is that focus and concentration are the key for success in the government examination to become an official. She set out to make it through the exam in one go, and she was able to put in a lot of work. Her daily routine included reading newspapers to keep up to date with the latest news. Additionally, she received a lot of help online, by accumulating study materials and viewing Rajya Sabha TV.
